Car naps have become the bane of my existence. Yet they are also the fruit of my day. For whatever reason, my 15 month olds hate sleep; and in turn me.
Wait, not all sleep. Just naps. And not hate so much as avoid.
It’s gotten to the point where I have to throw them in the car and drive around for them to get a nap! Anyone with toddlers knows that they need the naps to not be monsters the rest of the day.
I don’t know if any of you twin moms out there have this struggle too, but we have not been able to sleep train our boys yet. That means I can’t just drop them in their cribs and wait for sleep to happen.
I long for that day.
I’m giddy for that day.
But today is not that day.

I don’t have experience with toddlers. However my twins are 4 months old and I’m in the process of sleep training them. I give them 20 minutes once I put them down in their cribs to cry it out. If after 20 minutes they are still crying, I go in their room to soothe them. They are pacifier addicts, so normally their fuss is due to spitting it out. Just a little tactic I’ve found that is working for sleeping training.

We are going to start something similar soon. They don’t use a pacifier or a bottle though! Self soothing is going to be the struggle.
