When the Black Plague Hits Your House

Ugh.  Just when you think you’re safe, it hits.

Sickness.

Now, I’m not one to keep my kids sheltered and avoid germs at all costs; but I don’t welcome them in either.  I’m not stupid.

Why would I want to deal with two sick kids at once?  Much less two sick toddlers.

Not to mention having to watch your babies struggle because there’s nothing that can be done other than to let it run it’s course.

So here I sit.  Waiting.

They’re asleep in their cribs for now.  In a few hours I’m sure they’ll wake up uncomfortable from the fevers because the medicine wore off or because being sick just sucks.  I’ll rock them.  And hug them.  And love on them until the wee hours of the morning.

Better make that coffee extra strong.

What do you do to try and avoid plague in your house?

  1. Poor mommy! I have a 2 year old boy and he has had some pretty bad chest colds. I love to diffuse essential oils like Eucalyptus to help with his cough. But in the end love and time are what works best. Sending my thoughts your way! I am sure you are tired!
